Estonia plans to build about 150 bunkers in Ida-Viru County, along the border with Russia, Defense Minister Martin Herem said during a question-and-answer session in the Riigikogu, the Estonian parliament, responding to a question from lawmaker Arvo Aller.

In response to an increase in Russian aggression in the region, the Baltic states have placed a strong emphasis on strategic readiness in recent years, encouraging civilian preparedness and ramping up defense spending.
