In a last-minute call, Office of Hawaiian Affairs Board of Trustees Chair Kai Kahele canceled a meeting on the CEO selection and held a press conference Monday afternoon announcing that the decision will be made after the general election.

Systemic issues have prevented the agency and its Board of Trustees from working together, including poorly defined responsibilities for the board chair and CEO, unclear budget policies and conflicting leadership styles.
